The Nostalgia - Made to Order - Customize Your Monogram Wall Letter

The Nostalgia - Made to Order - Customize Your Monogram Wall Letter
π€ THE NOSTALGIA
Faux Tarot Series | Card VI
Some memories are better in black and white. Others just live there.
Remember when your biggest problems were whether you could beat the next level of your favorite video game, what time your friends were coming over, or whether your mom was going to make you come inside before the streetlights came on?
Before bills. Before responsibilities. Before your knees started making noises every time you stood up.
You know, back when our biggest financial concern was whether we had enough quarters for the arcade.
Welcome to The Nostalgia. π€π©Άπ€
Part of my original Faux Tarot series, this piece is a love letter to childhood, memories, and those little moments we didn't realize we'd spend the rest of our lives missing.
And here's the kicker: That's not a black-and-white filter.
Every single piece of glass in this panel is genuinely black, white, or some shade of gray.
Not one damn color.
For someone who usually treats color like a basic human necessity, creating an entirely monochromatic piece was a serious exercise in restraint.
I had to hunt down an absurd variety of black, white, and gray glass to create depth, contrast, and texture without relying on color to do the heavy lifting.
Sixteen shades of gray, to be exact.
Not quite fifty, but we're making stained glass here, not writing questionable erotica.
The result is a little snapshot of childhood, permanently preserved in glass.
Because sometimes the loudest thing you can say lives in black, white, and sixteen shades of gray.

π Wait... ALL of That Is Glass?!
Yep. Every last ridiculous little detail.
This isn't stained glass with a bunch of painted-on embellishments. This piece incorporates multiple glassworking techniques to achieve the tiny details throughout the design.
Materials and techniques include:
Traditional stained glass: Individually cut, ground, foiled, and soldered glass pieces.
Glass dough: Used to create dimensional details, including the monogram and stars.
Glass ribbons and stringers: Used for intricate decorative elements.
Lampworked glass: Used to create details including the lollipop and lettering on the game.
Glass frit: Crushed glass used to create additional textures and details.
Glass screen printing: Even the lettering spelling out THE NOSTALGIA was created using glass frit and a screen-printing technique.
That's a whole lot of different ways to manipulate glass just to make one piece of artwork.
And I loved every unnecessarily complicated minute of it.
Well, most of them.
π€ Make It YOUR Nostalgia
Because someone else's childhood memories are cute, but yours are better.
One of my favorite details in this piece is the framed monogram hanging on the little girl's bedroom wall.
And because nostalgia is deeply personal, you can customize this artwork to make it a little more YOURS.
β¨ Personalization Options
1. Choose Your Monogram
The framed letter hanging on the bedroom wall can be customized with the initial of your choice.
Whether it's your own initial, your child's, or someone whose childhood you want to commemorate, I'll incorporate your chosen letter into the artwork.
2. Choose Your Character
The original design features a little girl, but The Nostalgia can also be created with a little boy.
Choose whichever version best represents the childhood memories you're celebrating.
Available options:
Girl with custom monogram
Boy with custom monogram
Please provide your preferred character and monogram letter when placing your order.
A Little Note About Customization
Customizing the monogram or character doesn't mean redesigning the entire panel. The overall composition, theme, dimensions, and monochromatic color palette will remain consistent with the original artwork.
Minor design adjustments may be necessary to accommodate your selections while maintaining the structural integrity of the stained glass.
π οΈ Made to Order: The Original Has Already Lived Its Childhood
PLEASE NOTE: THIS LISTING IS FOR A BRAND-NEW, MADE-TO-ORDER PIECE.
The artwork photographed is a previously completed piece from my original Faux Tarot series.
You're not purchasing that exact panel. You're commissioning a new version of an existing design that I've already created and successfully executed.
Because I've built this pattern before, I may make minor adjustments to improve construction, accommodate your customization choices, or account for current glass availability.
Any proposed changes that would materially affect the appearance of your artwork will be discussed and approved before your purchase is finalized.
Estimated production time: Approximately 4β6 weeks.
Each piece is individually handcrafted, so production times may vary depending on my current workload, material availability, and the complexity of your customization.
I'll communicate any significant changes or delays.
π° Why Does This Piece Cost What It Does?
Let's talk about the elephant in the room.
Or, more accurately, the tiny glass lollipop in the room.
The Nostalgia isn't simply a bunch of glass pieces cut into shapes and soldered together.
This artwork combines traditional stained glass construction with multiple specialized glassworking techniques, many of which require their own materials, equipment, preparation, and firing processes.
Every shade of glass had to be sourced specifically to achieve the monochromatic appearance.
Then there's the original pattern design, cutting, grinding, foiling, soldering, cleaning, and finishing.
Not to mention creating the dimensional details, lampworked elements, and screen-printed lettering.
You're paying for the glass, the specialized materials, the design work, the equipment, and the hours of skilled labor that go into bringing all those tiny details together.
And, naturally, the occasional existential crisis when a tiny piece of glass refuses to cooperate.
Handmade art isn't expensive because artists are trying to get rich.
It's expensive because making something this detailed takes a ridiculous amount of time, specialized materials, and skill.
π€ The Fine Print (Because Adulthood Ruins Everything)
Handmade Means Handmade
Each panel is individually handcrafted. Minor variations in glass texture, tone, solder lines, and overall appearance are natural characteristics of handmade stained glass.
Because The Nostalgia uses a variety of specialty glass materials, your finished piece may contain subtle differences from the original photographed artwork.
Lighting Matters
Although this panel is entirely monochromatic, different lighting conditions can dramatically influence how its textures and tones appear.
Natural light, artificial light, background colors, and screen settings may affect the appearance of the artwork.
Glass Is Glass
Stained glass is fragile. Handle with care and display securely.
This is decorative artwork, not a toy, regardless of how many childhood memories it brings back.
