🪞 XVIII. THE INERTIA

Faux Tarot Series | Card XVIII

Despair, but make it pretty. ✨

“Will it ever end?”

Or are you just sitting around waiting for it to?

Welcome to The Inertia, a stained glass representation of that delightful moment when you realize the thing standing between you and changing your life might actually be... you.

Hate that for us.

Inertia, by definition, is the tendency of an object to remain at rest or continue moving in the same direction unless acted upon by an external force.

Which is super cool and fun when you realize you've been waiting for some magical external force to come along and change your circumstances.

A sign from the universe. A sudden burst of motivation. A life-changing revelation.

Maybe a fucking carrier pigeon with detailed instructions.

But sometimes, the uncomfortable truth is that you have to be the force.

And wouldn't you know it, recognizing that is significantly easier than actually doing something about it.

Anyway, if you need me, I'll be staring at myself in the mirror, asking deeply uncomfortable questions, and waiting for a sign like it's going to knock on my front door.

In the meantime, at least the existential crisis is aesthetically pleasing.

The custom-coated dichroic background is giving "Despair, but make it pretty."

And honestly? That's pretty much the entire human experience.

🌈 Let's Talk About That Glass

Because if we're going to have an existential crisis, we might as well make it sparkle.

One of the defining features of The Inertia is its specialty glass.

Custom-Coated Dichroic Glass

The dichroic glass used in this piece was custom-coated in collaboration with Art of Dichroic.

Unlike traditional stained glass, dichroic glass interacts with light in ways that can produce dramatically different colors depending on the viewing angle, lighting conditions, and whether light is reflected or transmitted through the glass.

Which means this artwork can look different throughout the day.

Much like your outlook on life after your third cup of coffee.

Glow Glass

The Inertia also incorporates glow glass, adding another dimension to the artwork's appearance under appropriate lighting conditions.

The combination of specialty glass materials creates a visually dynamic piece that changes with its environment.

A fitting choice for artwork about change, wouldn't you say?

🛠️ Made to Order: Your Existential Crisis, Handcrafted Just for You

PLEASE NOTE: THIS LISTING IS FOR A BRAND-NEW, MADE-TO-ORDER PIECE.

The artwork photographed is a previously completed panel from my original Faux Tarot series.

You're purchasing a newly handcrafted version of an existing design that has already been created and successfully executed.

Because this pattern has been built before, minor adjustments may be made to improve construction, accommodate material availability, or refine details discovered during the original execution.

Any proposed changes that would materially affect the appearance of your artwork will be disclosed and discussed with you before your purchase is finalized.

⏳ Production Time

Estimated turnaround: 4–6 weeks.

Each panel is individually created by hand, and production times may vary depending on my current workload and the availability of specialty glass.

Because this particular design incorporates custom-coated dichroic glass, material availability may influence production timelines.

Any significant delays will be communicated.

💰 Why Does Handmade Stained Glass Cost What It Does?

Because despite what Pinterest and TikTok might have convinced the general public, stained glass isn't just a relaxing little craft where you cut some colorful shapes and call it a day.

Especially not this one.

The Inertia incorporates specialty dichroic glass that was custom-coated specifically for the artwork, along with glow glass and the materials required for traditional stained glass construction.

Then there's the original pattern design, sourcing the materials, cutting, grinding, foiling, soldering, cleaning, and finishing.

And let's not forget the specialized tools and equipment required to make all of that happen.

The price reflects the materials, original design work, specialized techniques, equipment, and hours of hands-on craftsmanship required to create the finished panel.

You're not just purchasing a piece of decorative glass.

You're purchasing the physical manifestation of an existential crisis, painstakingly assembled by someone who could probably benefit from a less expensive hobby.

But here we are.

🖤 The Fine Print (Because Life Has Enough Surprises)

Handmade Means Handmade

Every Rainjarden Does panel is individually handcrafted.

Slight variations in glass colors, textures, solder lines, and other details are natural characteristics of handmade artwork.

Because specialty glass can vary between production batches, your finished piece may differ subtly from the original photographed panel.

Lighting Matters

Dichroic glass is a dramatic little bitch.

Its appearance can shift significantly depending on lighting, viewing angle, background, and whether you're viewing reflected or transmitted light.

Glow glass may also appear differently depending on the lighting environment and its specific properties.

Your artwork may not look identical under every lighting condition, and that's part of what makes these materials so interesting.

Glass Is Glass

Stained glass is fragile, even when it looks like it could survive an emotional breakdown better than the rest of us.

Handle carefully, display securely, and keep away from anyone who treats delicate objects like they're indestructible.

All Sales Final & Shipping Damage
